Would you like to explore another country while giving back to the local community? Would you like to travel in Africa? Volunteer in Tanzania with IFRE and fulfill both desires!
Tanzania contains three of Africa’s seven natural wonders, the highest mountain peak in the country, and some of its deepest lakes. The country is home to a vast variety of birds and wildlife living in the world’s most treasured national parks and game reserves. You’ll go back in time as you experience the Maasai people, who retain their way of life and traditions that they have had for centuries.
Sadly, along with its beauty and mystery, Tanzania is a desperately poor country, with close to 70 percent of the population living in poverty. It is one of the least-developed countries in the world, and so suffers from problems common to the developing world. Problems like wealth inequality, malnutrition and a lack of education, health care and social injustice hurts children and women from poor families especially.
Many organizations and NGOs which are working to help these children and communities desperately needs volunteers more than ever. You can help solve these problems by teaching English, working in an orphanage, volunteering in a healthcare project, or promote HIV/AIDS awareness. The possibilities are endless.
