The International Republican Institute (IRI) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, organization dedicated to advancing freedom and democracy worldwide. Since 1983, IRI has worked to develop democratic institutions and ideals, carrying out a variety of international programs to promote freedom, self-government and the rule of law worldwide. IRI provides technical assistance in the areas of political party strengthening, developing civic institutions and open elections, promoting democratic governance and advancing the rule of law.
IRI will employ a public opinion research firm to rapidly deploy a nationwide combined face-to-face (PAPI/CAPI) and computer-assisted telephone interview (CATI) polling survey (of n=7,000) to gather data on public priorities for the new government and Burma’s economy. IRI will use this data to inform political parties and newly elected parliamentarians of key constituent issues so that they can begin formulating policies ahead of the seating of the new government.
Statement of Work
Public opinion data shall be obtained through a survey of Yangon, Bago, Chin, Magwe, Kayin, Kayah, Mon and Rakhine States/Regions that is designed to obtain the most accurate possible information about governance and the economy in the post-election period. It is IRI’s preference that data collection for this survey is conducted through face-to-face interviews (PAPI/CAPI). Should this be impossible or inadvisable, IRI will accept proposals for phone interviews (CATI.)
