As part of its “Policies and actions with and in favor of youth” program, the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), through its External Representations in Asia-Pacific, Central Africa, West Africa, in the Caribbean and Latin America, in Central and Eastern Europe and in the Indian Ocean, is launching a call for project leaders for the benefit of young people around the theme “Sport and Citizenship”.
Aware of the preponderant contribution of sport to sustainable development, the OIF provides support to French-speaking youth who are the bearers of initiatives that promote sport as a tool for development, social cohesion, and civic engagement.
The objectives of this call are to:
Promote and financially support initiatives by young people or in favor of young people using sport as a vector of social cohesion and civic engagement;
Promote the values of sport in the service of citizenship, sustainable development, peace, and socio-professional integration;
Promote fair play, respect, equality, and solidarity through sport.
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is between EUR 10,000 and EUR 15,000 per initiative. The OIF reserves the right not to allocate all of the available funds.
In general, the projects must fall under one of the ten (10) themes supported by sport within the framework of this call. One or more themes can be chosen:
Sport and social cohesion;
Sport, life skills, and professional integration;
Sport and education;
Sport and handicap;
Sport and social integration;
Sport, diversity, gender equality, and empowerment of women;
Sport and child protection;
Sport and reduction of inequalities;
Sport and respect for the environment;
Sport, health, and well-being.
The applicant must be a non-governmental organization, a non-profit association, or a foundation having its head office and management within one of the member states or governments of La Francophonie under the following external representations: Asia-Pacific, Africa Central, West Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America, Central, and Eastern Europe and the Indian Ocean;
The applicant must have legal status and must have existed for at least 2 years and be legally recognized by national authorities;
The applicant is based in one of the member states and governments of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) under the following external representations: Asia-Pacific, Central Africa, West Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America, in Central and Eastern Europe, and the Indian Ocean;
The applicant must have carried out at least one action related to the objective of the call for projects during the last two (02) years;
The applicant must have the human resources and technical capacities necessary to implement the project (management, implementation of activities, accountability, communication, and documentation of good practices and lessons learned.)
The project must use sport as a vector in the service of the sustainable development objectives (SDG 2030), in particular, those covered by sport (3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11);
The project should target young people aged 15 to 35;
The project must seek and promote, beyond young people, the full involvement of vulnerable social groups;
The project must be able to have visible, rapid results (implementation time of 3 months maximum);
The subsidy requested from the OIF must not exceed 80% of the total project budget.
