The Opportunity

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Intern will report to MEAL Officer whilst providing support to various project and s/he will work closely with the MEAL officers, Information management coordinator, as well as other programme team. The MEAL Intern’s responsibilities include but not limited to. will support the in general, with cleaning and analyzing the reported data from the field monitors, consolidating beneficiary databases in a master Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, or other identified data management system for programmatic data storage and beneficiary tracking as well as archiving of all relevant beneficiary documentation shared by partners in One Drive. Create and consolidate the databases across ongoing sectors, as well as will work on activating and creating programme dashboards and data presentation when needed.In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and play a more versatile role as per instructions by the MEAL Manager.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • BSc/BA/BEng in Social Sciences, Computer Sciences, Statistics or related field
  • Familiarity/training/experience in MEAL systems
  • Computer literate (including working knowledge of Microsoft Office) and ability to do internet-based research
  • Working or academic knowledge in research, data collection, analysis, and information/database management
  • Fluent in English, and Arabic (speaking, understanding, reading, and writing)
  • Strong organizational skills and discretion with confidential information
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Proven ability to handle challenging work load
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Turkish proficiency is highly desirable
  • Preferably previous working experience (including paid internships) in NGOs, private sector
  • Pregerably previous experience working in humanitarian programmes in education and protection sectors
  • Preferably working knowledge of Power-BI or similar software and experience in working with children and adolescents, and particularly refugees
  • Preferably familiarity in qualitative data collection through focus group discussions and key informant interviews via child friendly methodologies

We offer a competitive package in the context of the sector at the pay-grade of the position, transportation allowance as per relevant internal policy and 20 days of annual leave per year.

Position holder will be based in Antakya/Hatay, therefore legal right to work in Turkey is necessary at the time of applicaton.
