You’ll contribute to ending world hunger by …
- Ensure high-quality and timely delivery of outputs, alignment with Action Against Hunger’s strategy, national nutrition and health standards, and donor compliance requirements.
- Provide technical support to LGUs to ensure quality delivery of Public Health Nutrition trainings and other initiatives
- Ensure training programs enhance the technical capacities of health workers, partners, and community-level implementers in BARMM.
- Provide a consistent and high-quality technical support in relation to behavioral change activities.
Key activities in your role will include
Objective 1: Implementation Support
- With the Head of Project, develop a Social Behavior Change Plan for project areas, delivering messages about health and nutrition.
- Develop, pre-testing, and producing communication tools and job aids based on evidence-based theories and methodologies, in line with the Social Behavior Change strategy.
- Develop learning and development plan for Municipal level health and nutrition workers aligned with the delivery of the local nutrition action plans.
- Deliver technical training, and other Social Behavior Change intervention while closely working with communities and field program staff.
- Provide technical assistance in community sensitization and mobilization and behavior change communications, to the targeted population.
- Provide regular reports (as defined) to the Head of Project to update them on the advancement of activities and make them aware of any key challenges and support needed
- Monitor project progress on Social Behavior Change and address challenges promptly.
Objective 2: Partnership and Representation of Action Against Hunger with external stakeholders
- Represent Action Against Hunger at local coordination meetings
- Ensure project activities are coordinated with relevant agencies and stakeholders where Action Against Hunger is working.
- Ensure quality training, participant engagement and post-training follow-ups.
Objective 3: Monitoring and Reporting
- Based on the agreed MEAL plan, provide regular input to ensure accurate reporting on indicators.
- Conduct post-training evaluations and learning assessments
- Ensure proper and timely archiving of sources of verification
- Document best practices and lessons learned to improve future programming.
Do you meet the profile required criteria?
- A licensed health or allied health professional (preferred)
- Degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Health Sciences, or Development Studies (master’s degree, preferred).
- Experienced in the following:
- Social Behavior Change
- Health Promotion and Health Education Strategies
- Health and nutrition trainings
- Implementing social and behavior change communication programs
- Knowledgeable on Adult Learning Methodologies
- Adept with the current state of health and nutrition in BARMM Region context
- Excellent report and technical writing skills
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Preferably has previous experience in assessment, monitoring or implementation of emergency response projects
- Knowledge in Nutrition in Emergencies
- At least 5 years in field implementation of health and nutrition projects, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts in BARMM
- Strong experience in planning and delivery of health education and health promotion activities
- Experience in designing training curriculums for health and nutrition units at Municipality and Barangay level.
- Knowledge on Training packages such as:
- Philippine Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (PIMAM)
- Infant and Child Feeding (IYCF)
- Nutrition in Emergencies (NiE)
- Nutrition Program Management (NPM)
- Familiarity in working in BARMM Region
- Excellent in written and spoken English and Tagalog. Knows the local language – Maranao and/or Maguindanaon, in the working area is an asset
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
- Willing to be based in the areas of operation and able to travel extensively in the Project areas – Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Sur
- Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality and child rights or personal commitment to gender equality and child rights.
