. PROJECT SUMMARY

IOCC is implementing a project entitled “Inclusive Relief and Empowerment for Syrian Refugees with Impairments and Disabilities in Jordan” funded by U.S. Department of State Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM). The project aims to improve the quality of life of refugees and vulnerable Jordanians with hearing and visual impairments and disabilities in Jordan. Activities aim to improve identification of impairments and disabilities, increase access to medical diagnosis and treatment, equip local health and education institutions, raise community awareness, and empower people with disabilities (PWDs) through rehabilitation services, such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and special education, as well as psychosocial support. The project is being implemented in Amman and Zarqa governorates in 2019.

Specific objectives of this consultancy are to provide a one-day training for community-based rehabilitation workers (CBRWs) supporting implementation of activities for people with impairments and disabilities; IOCC staff; and local partner staff on child protection with a focus on child protection topics related to working with children with impairments and disabilities.

2. OBJECTIVE AND TARGETS

IOCC aims to contract a consultant to conduct a one-day training in 1 location (Amman), for up to 25 project volunteers (CBRWs), IOCC and local partner staff, and project stakeholders in Arabic.

The process will encompass:

  • Developing of training materials
  • Submission of training materials for approval
  • Delivery of interactive one-day training (in Arabic)
  • Knowledge measurement and evaluation of the training by attendees (i.e. pre and post-tests)
  • Provision of a final report of the training.

3. SCOPE OF THE WORK (WORK ASSIGNMENT)

Under the supervision of the IOCC Jordan country office, the trainer is expected to complete the following tasks to the standard required by IOCC:

1) Develop training materials for local context and submit to IOCC for review and approval

2) Deliver the training

· Conduct a one-day training for up to 25 people

3) Measure knowledge increase and training impact and satisfaction

· Develop a monitoring and evaluation tool to measure the increase in knowledge of beneficiaries as a result of the training, as well as gather feedback on their satisfaction and on the impact of the training

4) Produce and submit a final summative report on the trainings

Work plan: The trainer is expected to develop a work plan at the beginning of the assignment and regularly update it to achieve these deliverables.

Outputs:

  • Action plan for the consultancy with timeline – to be submitted for approval (in English)
  • Materials and tools of the training – to be submitted for approval (in English and Arabic)
  • Tool to measure knowledge increase and training impact and satisfaction – to be submitted for approval (in English and Arabic)
  • Regular meetings with IOCC to discuss progress
  • 1 trainings day (in Arabic)
  • Final summative report (in English)

Timeframe

The targeted date for the training is February 2, 2021.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:

· University degree in a relevant subject;

· Fluent Arabic & good command of English, both spoken and written;

· A minimum of three years of professional experience in training;

· A minimum of five years of professional experience in child protection;

· Knowledge of disability topics and linkages with child protection;

· Gender sensitivity;

· Commitment to the values and mission of IOCC;

· Excellent analytical and writing skills;

· Proven training and facilitation skills;

· Significant experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders.

The ideal trainer will be based in Jordan or the region. The trainer must be able to conduct the training in Arabic.
