Many African products get turned away during the exports process towards the rest of the world. One of the main reason behind the refusal of our products is caused by a lack of sufficient and necessary standards needed for those products to be accepted abroad.
Global or international trade contributes greatly in national growth and especially in the maintenance of infrastructure. African countries lacking a thriving international trade tend to rely on financial help or assistance to maintain their countries infrastructures. Under such conditions, those countries become vulnerable to any natural or man made disasters.
How would an African country ,lacking the ability to export its good due to lower standards, find the finance to maintain and build infrastructures that will keep its population safe?
Services and products embracing a safe level of standards are necessary to ensure the safety of consumers and thus good standards can prevent disasters.
It seems that in the midst of all the great issues we face, standardisation in Africa has not yet reached the place it deserves in our plan of actions.
It is time we change the course of our actions and our thinking ways.

‘The impact of standardization procedure on disaster management in Africa’

* The fees charged for this training cost USD 800 and only cover for the facilitation, course material, lunch break, two tea breaks, a certificate and a practical site visit. Participants are advised to cover their own accommodation and personal expenses such as for dinner or personal shopping not related to the training. Though the fees charged for this training do not include accommodation, we offer to assist participants in finding and reserving suitable guest accommodations.
