This four-day course, widely recognized by humanitarian aid agencies, helps trainers become more efficient and effective. It is open for participants who are keen to develop and hone their training skills and learning styles. At its inception, this course introduces the participants to the training cycle and training needs analysis. Further, it explores the process of designing training programmes, writing individual training sessions, training methods and resources, the roles of the trainer, presentation of individual training sessions and feedback and discussion on individual training sessions. RedR India’s Training of Trainers helps in building skills and confidence towards becoming a facilitator for learning, not just a presenter.

RedR India’s Training of Trainers is very practical and the emphasis is firmly on learning from doing. Participants will learn through experience, observation and feedback. Sessions on adult learning, training design, methodology and evaluation will be immediately put into practice by participants through the designing and running of their own short training sessions. The course includes options to explore particular topics in more detail, and time is set aside to review other approaches to meeting learning needs.
Day 1 provides a foundational basis of the theories and principles underlining the process of training and facilitation.
Day 2 provides the participants with the nuances of planning and conducting a training, and deals mainly with the skills and approaches required for effective facilitation. The day begins with a session on planning a training event, and gradually builds on to understanding the training process in its entirety with skill-oriented sessions on developing a session plan, facilitation skills, training methods and training aids.
Day 3 puts the learnings from day 1 and 2 to practice as the participants are engaged in planning and delivering their own midi sessions on selected topics. These sessions are evaluated on the spot and a constructive feedback is provided to each of the participants by the trainers. After the sessions, the day proceeds to understand the importance and the different methods of training evaluation, and ends with a session on PowerPoint and presentation skills.
Day 4 consolidates the training as the participants get a platform to conduct maxi-sessions based on the knowledge and skills gained across the training.
Who will conduct this course?
Standard training module will be used in the training by our experienced trainers. The module has been developed, like all other training modules of RedR India, keeping global standards and practices in consideration. The training will be conducted by trainers with vast experience in relief work and the humanitarian sector.
How will this course be conducted?
The emphasis during this four-day training will be on active learning of the participants through participatory methods. The methodology used in this training will comprise of following:
- Group exercises
- Case studies and scenarios
- Focus group discussions
- Experiential exchange between the participants.
Residential Fee-₹40000/ $570 [Includes tuition fee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, refreshments during training and shared accommodation (room to be shared by two participants).] Non-residential Fee-₹26000/ $370 (Includes tuition fee, lunch and refreshments during training.) Special Rates- ₹19000 / $270 (Available on request for students and small organizations.) The course fee is inclusive of applicable taxes in India. Base currency for RedR India is INR. All the billing will be in INR, with equivalent USD/GBP or other currency rate prevailing at the time of billing being applicable.
