Project Description

The USAID-funded Learning, Acting and Building for Rehabilitation in Health Systems (ReLAB-HS) is designed to support development of health systems that are responsive to the escalating challenge of addressing the growing needs for rehabilitation within populations. It seeks to co-design and implement innovative, comprehensive, cost-effective interventions that strengthen health systems for provision of rehabilitation including assistive technology. ReLAB-HS will focus on integrating rehabilitation and assistive technology services across all levels of care within health systems. The ReLAB-HS consortium comprises of five international partners with expertise in health systems, implementation science, and delivery innovations.

Consultancy Description

Momentum Wheels for Humanity is seeking candidates for a Wheelchair Service Training Package (WSTP) Trainer for the USAID-funded Learning, Acting and Building for Rehabilitation in Health Systems (ReLAB-HS) project in Pakistan. The WSTP Trainer will be responsible for providing technical support to Momentum Wheels for Humanity rehabilitation personnel in Swat on the implementation of the World Health Organization’s WSTP basic-level course.

Primary functions of the WSTP Trainer include (i) preparing the technical delivery and materials of the training, (ii) delivering the five-day in-person training, and, (iii) producing a report on the training process with lessons learned and recommendation.

Detailed Responsibilities

Consultant shall assume the following specific responsibilities for the length of the consultancy:

Task 1: Prepare the technical delivery and materials of WSTP training

  1. Participate in the virtual meeting with AT Systems Strengthening Global Advisor, Pakistan AT Focal Point and Pakistan ReLAB-HS Country Team to prepare for the training
  2. Review the WHO-WSTP materials
  3. Develop agenda and training/facilitation plan for 3-day in-person WSTP training, including training materials

Task 2: Deliver the five-day in-person WSTP training

  1. Lead the delivery of the training in an effective and efficient manner
  2. As arise, flag any issues or provide recommendation to Pakistan AT Focal Point and ReLAB-HS Pakistan Country Team to improve the training process
  3. Present at agreed time and location to adequately prepare for and deliver the training

Task 3: Produce a report on the training process with lessons learned and recommendation.

  1. Develop a draft report on the training process with lessons learned and recommendation to be reviewed by AT Systems Strengthening Global Advisor and/or Pakistan AT Focal Point
  2. Produce the final report on the training

TIMELINE & DELIVERABLES

Task 1: Prepare the technical delivery and materials of WSTP training

Deliverable & Deadline

Participate in the virtual meeting with AT Systems Strengthening Global Advisor, Pakistan AT Focal Point and Pakistan ReLAB-HS Country Team to prepare for the training- 21st August 2023

Review the WHO-WSTP materials- 23rd August 2023

Agenda and facilitation plan for 5-day in-person WSTP training- 24th August 2023

Task 2: Deliver the five-day in-person WSTP training

Draft report on the training process with lessons learned and recommendation to be reviewed by AT Systems Strengthening Global Advisor and/or Pakistan AT Focal Point- 11th September 2023

Final report on the training- 15th September 2023
