HIGHLIGHTS
- Logistical constraints and insecurity hamper the delivery of medicines to Am-Dafock
- More than 500 displaced households receive multisectoral assistance in Ouham-Fafa
- Insecurity continues to drive population displacement in Ouham
GENERAL CONTEXT
Ouham Prefecture – North-West
- On 26 September, preventive population movements to the bush and surrounding villages were reported following an incursion by armed men in Bogano, on the secondary Benzambé axis, approximately 75 km from Bossangoa. Two women were killed and several people injured. Threats made by the assailants to return generated fear among affected communities and triggered these displacements. Some of the displaced households subsequently moved to Bossangoa town, where they were received by local authorities. They are currently being hosted by local families. Persistent insecurity may trigger further displacement and increase humanitarian needs, particularly by affecting access to essential services and livelihoods.
