Russia’s ongoing full-scale invasion of Ukraine continues to increase the country’s veteran population, with returning service members facing legal, medical, and social challenges. The complex pathway from a military to a civilian identity requires navigating intricate demobilization procedures and reestablishing social and professional connections in the communities of origin or return. While social support networks help ease this transition, veterans still face barriers such as administrative obstacles, challenges with their health, and diffi culties fi nding employment. Recognizing that adaptability to civilian life depends on multiple interconnected factors, this report builds on previous reSCORE veteran studies to explore fi ve key dimensions — services relevant upon demobilization1, mental and physical well-being, social support, and economic reintegration — aiming to identify effective strategies for supporting veterans in Ukraine.
