Our approach combines direct assistance and capacity building efforts with bottom-up narrative-shaping initiatives, including research, oral history and advocacy, so that all Syrians are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to construct a pluralistic and rights-based society of tomorrow.

Purpose of Contract: To equip Badael’s Civic Awareness program team with advanced skills and knowledge on civic awareness.

Job Summary:

Badael is seeking a trainer to provide advanced training of trainers on civic awareness to Badael’s Civic Awareness program team. The successful candidate must demonstrate expertise and a proven track record of providing advanced civic training to program teams. To complete the tasks necessary for the training’s success, the chosen candidate must train the program team on the topic of civic awareness, specifically advanced trainings on the core principles of civic awareness such as democracy, citizenship, human rights, and volunteering. The chosen applicant will also be required to train the program team on gendered approaches to civic awareness and social roles in civic awareness. Here, advanced knowledge on civic awareness as it relates to equality, inclusion and women rights in civil society and civic duties must be covered. Lastly, for this topic, the successful candidate must train the program team on advanced topics related to. The chosen candidate will be required to review the manual with the civic awareness program team and work with them to adapt it to the Raqqa context. The Chosen Candidate must Coach & Mentor staff members to ensure proper implementation of the training and its materials for Rightsholders

Terms of Reference:

The advanced civic awareness trainer will be responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Content preparation for the training sessions, including a thorough training program (TOT), a comprehensive training manual, introductory presentations, and team evaluation sample materials.
  • Training the program’s team on advanced civic awareness TOT At least 5 days.
  • Assessing, coaching, Mentoring the team on the training provided.
  • Sending the program’s team, a thorough training report on the methodology used for the training that was provided.
  • Upgrading right Holders Training materials suitable for Raqqa context.
  • Providing a report to Badael’s senior management on the training process, outcomes, as well as the success and challenges encountered.
  • We expect that the program’s team will gain advanced knowledge on civic awareness as well as how to train and improve others knowledge on a variety of civic topics.

Deliverables:

The chosen candidate will be required to deliver the following products and services:

  • Provide 5 days of advanced civic awareness training (TOT) in Arabic.
  • Modify Badael’s civic awareness training manuals and materials to fit the context of Badael’s work in Raqqa.
  • Providing after-training coaching and Mentoring session to the civic awareness training team.

Requirements:

  • A University Degree in Social Sciences or related fields.
  • A certified trainer with experience in the aforementioned fields.
  • Excellent experience in the training of trainers.
  • Previous experience with Civic Society Organizations.
  • Experience with Syrian organizations is essentional.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Excel – Word – PowerPoint) and managing e-mails.
  • Mastery of Arabic and a good command of English.
  • Availability in August to provide the training- and August\September coaching sessions.
