Amal is a non-profit Syrian non-governmental organization established to provide life-saving aid and services to the most vulnerable people, strengthening their resilience, advocating for their basic rights, and also contributing to providing recovery and revitalization programs for societies that war torned.

Amal Organization is a relief and development organization, was established in early 2013 and the organization was licensed and registered in Turkey – Gaziantep on 6/6/2014

Role Overview:

The Business Development and Partnership Manager will help in leading the efforts to expand Amal Organization’s outreach, increase fundraising opportunities, and establish strategic partnerships that align with our mission. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, forging sustainable collaborations, managing donor relations, and enhancing organizational growth through innovative initiatives and grant acquisition. Additionally, the Business Development and Partnership Manager will support strategic planning efforts for Amal’s regional offices and conduct field visits as necessary. He/she will also assist the Country Director with any unplanned tasks or urgent needs that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Development and Fundraising:

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities for Amal Organization, including grants, donations, and other partnerships at the local and international level.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support program expansion and sustainability.
  • Research and apply for grants from institutional donors, foundations, UN agencies and government entities.
  • Manage proposal development processes, including writing, editing, and submission, ensuring alignment with donor priorities and organizational needs.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of potential opportunities and track them through the proposal lifecycle.

2. Partnerships and Strategic Alliances

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including international NGOs, UN agencies, clusters, private sector entities, foundations, and government organizations.
  • Represent Amal Organization in external meetings, forums, and conferences to raise awareness of the organization’s mission and activities.
  • Negotiate, draft, and manage partnership agreements, ensuring mutual benefit and alignment with Amal Organization’s mission.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across different sectors to enhance service delivery and innovation in program implementation.
  • Work closely with the program team to ensure high quality reports and other documentations.

3. Donor Engagement :

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential donors to ensure sustained support and long-term partnerships.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and impact stories to demonstrate accountability and program success to donors.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and impactful communication with donors, showcasing the achievements of Amal’s programs.
  • Helping the country director in coordinating donor visits, site tours, and high-level meetings as necessary.

4. Internal Collaboration and Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with program, finance, and operations teams to ensure successful execution of projects and partner commitments.
  • Provide training, support, and mentorship to staff on donor engagement and proposal development processes.
  • Work with the communications team to ensure that key messages and updates are consistently conveyed to external audiences and donors.
  • Contribution to produce the annual reports of Amal organization in professional way to be circulated with related donors and stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in international development, business administration, public relations, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in business development, partnership management, or fundraising, ideally within the non-profit or humanitarian sector.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of donor-funded programs, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts.
    • Proven ability to write successful proposals and manage donor relations.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage partnerships and maintain strategic relationships.
    • Ability to think creatively, solve problems, and take initiative.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Key Qualifications:

  • **Language:**Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic or other regional languages is a plus.
