- Tropical storm WUTIP crossed the Paracel Islands and continued over the South China Sea toward Hainan Island. As of 12 June at 00:00 UTC, its centre was located over the South China Sea, approximately 153 km southeast of Sanya City on Hainan Island, with maximum sustained winds of 74 km/h (tropical storm strength).
- WUTIP is expected to make landfall over southern Hainan, near the area of Danzhou City, in the afternoon (UTC) of 12 June, with maximum sustained winds of up to 83 km/h. After that, it will cross western Hainan island and it will make a second landfall between the southern coast of Guangxi and Guangdong provinces on 14 June.
- Over the next 72 hours, heavy rainfall, strong winds, and storm surges are forecast for Hainan Island, southern China, most of northern Viet Nam, Laos, and northern Thailand.
