In July 2024 some 190 persons applied for asylum in the Republic of Cyprus (RoC), bringing the year-todate figure to 5,089 persons as at end July.

As at end July 2024, some 22,938 persons’ applications are pending at the Asylum Service, while some 5,983 persons’ appeals are pending at the International Protection Administrative Court (IPAC).

Some 22,756 persons are currently registered as inter-national protection beneficiaries in the RoC. Some 4,268 have been granted refugee status, and 18,488 have subsidiary protection.

There are some 157 persons of concern to UNHCR in the northern part of Cyprus.

In 2022 some 925 unaccom-panied and separated children (UASC) applied for asylum in the RoC. In 2023, 1,015 UASC were registered as having arrived at the Pournara First Reception Center. Some 485 UASC have applied for asylum from January to July 2024 (EASO data).

Up until 30th June 2024, some 22,528 refugees from Ukraine have applied for Temporary Protection in the RoC.
