Fundraising and Grants Manager

PURPOSE

The Fundraising and Grants Manager is responsible for defining and developing fundraising strategies throughout Collective Aid locations (Bosnia and Herzegovina, France and Serbia) as well as soliciting funds and building relationships to assure the financial sustainability of our ongoing projects and potential new ones.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

  1. Develop fundraising strategies that are tailored to each location’s needs to maximize participation and contributions, and integrate these into the overall fundraising strategy for Collective Aid.
  2. Research prospective funding opportunities and prepare overviews to inform management and collective decision-making.
  3. Prepare and write applications for funding to trusts, foundations or other grant-making bodies. Submit written applications, reviewing content with the management team where necessary.
  4. Coordinate web-based fundraising activities (crowdfunding).
  5. Monitor calls for proposals from potential donors and inform the management team of relevant existing or upcoming opportunities.
  6. Build and manage relations with existing and potential donors and partners and create a sustainable and growing network.
  7. Work with other members of the team to produce fundraising materials such as posters, social media content, or newsletters to promote, market, or advertise fundraising events.
  8. Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure our fundraising strategy and materials are in line with Collective Aid values.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2 years of professional fundraising and/or event planning experience desired.
  • A clear understanding of the unique needs (funding and otherwise) of nonprofit organizations.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent and proven communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt goals and working style to the rapidly-changing pace and requirements of the grassroots humanitarian aid field.
  • Intercultural sensitivity and affinity with the international development sector.
  • Confidence in your ability to build upon a role which has only existed for one year, and to build a functioning fundraising strategy and relevant mechanisms.
  • A love of working collaboratively.
  • A commitment to building a more equitable, diverse, and thoughtful organization.

CONDITIONS

-Remote positions with regular visits on the ground

-Possibility to relocate to a location or rotate (in that case: accommodation in volunteer house and one meal a day provided)

-Salary and hours: 700 euros a month – 40h a week
