- A landslide occurred in Rudraprayag District, Uttarakhand State, northern India, on 4 August, resulting in casualties and damage.
- According to the National Emergency Response Centre of India (NDMIndia), as of 6 August at least three people have died while 20 people are still missing. Concurrently due to heavy monsoon rainfall, over the past 48 hours a total of 18 people died and more than 152,000 people across six States have been affected.
- For the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast over north-eastern India while moderate rain is expected over northern India.
