NRC is looking for a Logistic Manager to support programme/project implementation and to provide overall oversight in logistics management in the Country Office and four area offices in Afghanistan.
We are looking for :
- Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a senior Logistics Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Knowledge and skills in market assessments, analysis and cash-based interventions
- Experience in Procurement and Supply chain
- Strong Leadership skills
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of the context in Afghanistan
- Knowledge of the local language (Dari and Pashtu)
- Experience with managing change
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Management of the logistics team
- Training and support of line managers and staff with logistical responsibilities
- Logistics budget preparation : Assist in, follow up and manage allocated budget lines
- Development of formalized in country logistics policy documentation in line with NRC Global procedures
- Setup key performance measures for all aspects of logistics activities and regularly review them against actual performance.
- Program and project design : Directly assisting and contributing to program and project design, including budget development
- Provide an enabling environment for the implementation of cash-based interventions, through working across programme and support teams and the development of relevant guidance and SoPs.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities to implement cash-based interventions and market based programmes
- Initiate and maintain necessary leases, licenses and contracts with relevant authorities and suppliers
