More than a month after devastating flash floods struck Nepal on 26 August, the humanitarian needs remain significant. 1,453 people have lost their lives, 13,795 remain missing or unaccounted for, and around 84,000 people need humanitarian assistance, including 22,000 children.

As of 1 October, World Vision International Nepal has reached 35,773 people, including 11,948 children and 822 people with disabilities, with essential food, shelter, water and sanitation, protection, health and nutrition support. The response is also helping restore safe drinking water, support children through Child Friendly Spaces, and enable local institutions to resume essential services.

World Vision continues to work with government authorities, local partners and humanitarian actors to support affected children and families as they recover and rebuild.
