The Role:

Oxfam GB is looking for a Private Sector Advisor for the Oxfam Business Advisory Service (OBAS).

In this role you will be working with senior private sector advisors to deliver impactful advisory and project work with a growing portfolio of clients, including global household names, across a range of human rights issues including living wage, worker voice and gender equity.

The Oxfam Business Advisory Service supports companies to improve their impact in global supply chains. We enable businesses to access the wealth of experience and expertise within Oxfam to strengthen corporate human rights, labour rights and gender strategies, policies, implementation and impact.

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam’s mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to the values of empowerment, accountability, and inclusion in all you do; and our feminist principles.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

Essential

  • Knowledge of and experience in. business and human rights issues, particularly labour rights, ideally in the supply chains of one or more of the following sectors: food and beverage; agriculture; retail and FMCG supply chains
  • Strong organizational skills, including the need to be agile by responding to requests at short notice, work on multiple projects with competing priorities at same time, ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, including communicating progress on projects and creating clear and succinct written reports and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  • Experience of working with the private sector either within a business or in a consultancy or advisory services role
  • Excellent research, writing and analytical skills
