About MAG:

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.

About the Asia Pacific region at MAG:

MAG supports the development of countries emerging from conflict by finding and destroying the Explosive Ordnance (EO), so that communities can raise their families and pursue their livelihoods in a safe and secure environment, free from fear of death or injury. The main area of focus in MAG’s programmes across the Asia Pacific region is Humanitarian Mine Action work, working on the clearance of landmines, cluster munitions and other EO. The countries in this region that we work in currently are Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos.

This will be done through both in person visits to programmes to deliver practical technical support as well as through remote support and advice as required. This is an interesting and diverse role whereby the support requirements in each programme may be slightly different, however the key areas of responsibility will include;

  • Development, roll out and strengthening of policies, procedures and systems
  • Infrastructure development, providing advice on assets and requirements to programmes
  • Proactively identifying measures that can be taken to improve the organisations’ environmental footprint across the region with regards to management of light and heavy plant machinery and fleet assets.
  • Providing technical input into investigations related to Road Traffic Accidents and light and heavy plant machinery as required.

About you:

We are looking for a dynamic, pragmatic and flexible individual who has the ability to find creative solutions to issues that arise and experience of providing technical expertise to develop existing fleet management policies and procedures.
