Role objectives:

• We are looking for an experienced General Manager for this beautiful hotel on the outskirts of Hereford. The venue will host monthly leadership management courses from one of the Group’s subsidiary businesses, Leadership Trust, & then will evolve into a wedding venue & hotel. We would like the hotel to offer seasonally changing menus & a range of fresh dishes as well as catering for the weddings & events. The successful candidate will have experience of working as a General Manager in a high standard hotel & will have strong accommodation & Food & Beverage experience. Live in accommodation is available on site if required. It is a generous & well kept space which would suit someone on their own or with a family.

General Manager responsibilities:

• Overall management of the entire hotel operation, primarily the 5 day residential leadership in management course initially.
• Ensure profitability of the business.
• Create a happy environment where staff enjoy their work.
• Recruit, train & develop the team.
• Implement ideas to drive the business forward & increase revenue.
• Budgeting, forecasting & P&L’s.
• Happy to step in operationally if needed.

General Manager requirements:

• Experience as a Hotel General Manager.
• Excellent vision for growing a new project with significant financial backing.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Excellent food & beverage knowledge.
• Strong experience of accommodation & room revenue.
• A strong leader who can motivate the team.
• Excellent commercial & financial knowledge to drive sales & increase profits.

Project reporting:

• This role reports to the Chelsea Group management.

Eligibility

• In line with the requirements of the Asylum & Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must either be eligible to live & work in the UK or must obtain permits to work in the UK prior to application.
• Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process.
• Hotel Management Certification preferrable but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable relevant experience of working as a General Manager in a high standard hotel & will have strong accommodation & Food & Beverage experience (essential).
• Fluent in English (essential).

Team management:

• Strong team management experience is required for this role.
