  • The 2026 Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) Acute Food Insecurity Analysis reported improved food security outcomes compared to previous years, although acute food insecurity persists in some areas and is projected to worsen during the 2026/27 lean season due to climatic and economic pressures.
  • WFP strengthened nutrition capacity through training on nutrition, value addition, food processing and preservation for district-level stakeholders and smallholder farmers, while advancing the integration of nutrition interventions across programme areas.
  • WFP supported the Government of Zambia’s preparations for the upcoming Global Child Nutrition Forum and advanced the revision of the Home-Grown School Meals and Procurement Strategies, reinforcing national ownership and coordination of school feeding, nutrition and school health interventions.
