Indonesia – Earthquake (ADINET, media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 08 August 2023)

  • An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 on 6 August was followed by 33 aftershocks within 24 hours in Sigi District in Central Sulawesi Province. This damaged 28 houses and displaced 256 people.
  • According to the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Central Sulawesi, 3,141 people in two villages in Nokilaki District have been affected by the earthquakes.
  • The Central Sulawesi BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC), in collaboration with the Sigi Regency BPBD and local village officials, is conducting assessments and providing assistance to affected people. The Sigi Social Service is distributing assistance in the form of food, tents, mats, blankets, and mattresses.
