Deputy Chief of Party Technical for the Green Economy Program in Georgia

Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) Technicalposition on an anticipated five-year USAID-funded Green Economy Program in Georgia. The program will support the modernization of high growth sectors of the Georgian economy that can provide substantial remunerative employment opportunities, with focus on improving the quality and environmental impact of these sectors.

The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) Technical will be responsible for providing senior-level technical leadership and administrative management to the activity, supporting interventions and staff to ensure that the project proceeds effectively and meets its targets. This position will be based in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Responsibilities:

*Work closely with the Chief of Party to ensure that the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and progress of all program activities are in accordance with established strategies and meet the goals of targeted communities, stakeholders, USAID, and the Government of Georgia.

*Serve as the project’s second point of contact with USAID/Georgia regarding day-to-day implementation and management matters relating to the award.

*Provide strategic vision and technical expertise and manage key technical staff focusing on areas such as inclusive economic growth and natural resource management.

*Ensure that cross-cutting themes such as gender and youth involvement are fully integrated programming and activities.

*Provide mentoring, coaching, and supervision for technical reports.

*Fulfill the role of Acting Chief of Party, when necessary.

*Other tasks as required to achieve the program Objectives and Key Results.

Qualifications:

*Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required (master’s degree or equivalent is preferred) in a relevant field such as economics, international relations, public administration, law, or environmental studies.

*At least 10 years of experience implementing development activities with demonstrated technical expertise in one or more of the following technical disciplines: economic growth, business enabling environment, climate change, natural resource management, waste management or trade.

*At least 5 years of experience leading technical teams and donor-funded projects in Eurasia or the Caucasus Region, preferably Georgia.

*Prior experience in the development of green economy sub sectors and mobilizing private finance and access to credit highly preferred.

*Proven experience effectively working and building strong relationships with a broad range of counterparts and stakeholders, including high government officials, private sectors, and other donors is required.

*Strong communication skills, including interpersonal and written skills.

*Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.

*Georgian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
