Intern, Human Resources Unit

Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Director, Coordinating Office for the Mediterranean and Chief of Mission in Italy and Malta and Representative to the Holy See, and the direct supervision of the Senior Human Resources Coordinator (SHRC), the intern will assist in providing support to the Human Resources Unit, in accordance with the IOM policy and procedures.

General Functions :
• Support in collecting applications, organizing interviews and any other action related to the staff recruitment process;
• Send standard e-mails to staff on administrative procedures related to recruitment, medicals, time management and other, as needed;
• Assist in maintaining electronic and hard copy filing systems;
• Draft documents, memos and declarations, as necessary;
• Keep personnel lists duly updated in accordance with the SHRC’s instructions;
• Assist in translating documents, as necessary;
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education:
• Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent);
or
• Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
or
• Have graduated with one of the above university degrees and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.

Experience:
• Previous experience in the human resources field would be considered an advantage.

Skills:
• Genuine interest towards the activities related to the human resources management;
• Ability to draft clearly and concisely;
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality;
• Ability to understand the Organization’s structure;
• Good level of computer literacy;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team of colleagues of varied cultural and profession backgrounds.

Languages:
Proficiency in Italian and English (oral and written).

Other:
The internship is subject to local recruitment. Only persons holding a valid residence and work permit for Italy will be eligible for consideration.
