Description

According to a quick report from the provinces of Ha Giang, Dien Bien, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Lang Son and Thai Nguyen, heavy rain, floods and landslides from July 29-30 caused the following damage:
– Regarding people: 06 people died (an increase of 05 people compared to the quick report on July 29): Ha Giang 02, Dien Bien 02, Thai Nguyen 01, Bac Giang 01; 01 person missing (Son La) and 02 people injured (Bac Kan).
– Regarding housing: 82 houses were damaged by landslides, flooding, and damage (an increase of 78 houses compared to the report on July 29): Dien Bien 35, Bac Kan 15, Cao Bang 02, Son La 04, Lang Son 26; 18 houses were urgently evacuated (an increase of 17 houses compared to the report on July 29) in Dien Bien.
– Regarding agriculture: 71.25 hectares of rice were flooded (an increase of 68 hectares compared to the report on July 29): Dien Bien 37.25 hectares, Bac Kan 13 hectares, Cao Bang 21 hectares; 10.9 hectares of crops were flooded, affected, and damaged (Dien Bien 0.4 hectares; Bac Kan 9.8 hectares; Cao Bang 0.7 hectares).
– Regarding livestock: 200 poultry and livestock died (Thai Nguyen).
– Regarding traffic: 51 landslide points with a total volume of soil and rock of about 5,308m3 ( an increase of 35 points and 4,028m3 of soil and rock compared to the quick report on July 29): Dien Bien 1,998m3 , Bac Kan 437m3 , Cao Bang 1,973m3 , Lang Son 900m3 .
Immediately after the disaster, local authorities visited and encouraged families of victims; mobilized forces to support people to overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives.
