IRW’s International Programmes Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Orphans & Child Welfare Assistant’ to join its dynamic OCW team on a Maternity Cover basis for up to 52 weeks.

The purpose of the role is to be the main focal point for IR Member and Country Offices for the Orphans Sponsorship Programmes (OSP): ensuring annual progress reports are sent on time to IR Members, timely transfers to Country Offices, and ensuring timely programme report submissions by Country Offices. The post-holder will deal with enquires in accordance to agreed IR standards (escalating any issues to the line Manager where necessary). The postholder will occasionally be providing support to the Seasonal programme team as and when required.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Ability to organise; prioritize and work efficiently under pressure and subject to changing priorities; meeting deadlines, and using judgment and initiative in problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Good levels of computer literacy (Microsoft office etc).
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision.
  • Good team worker with ability to build effective working relationships and establish credibility with colleagues and outside agencies.
  • Ability to handle, analyse and summarise information and data.
  • Ability to identify training needs and escalate when necessary.
