Here’s where you come in:
As Advisor, Global Accountability, you will serve the World Vision Partnership by providing strategic direction and technical leadership to strengthen and balance accountability to external stakeholders. You will champion and oversee consistent implementation of accountability to children and communities, in line with World Vision’s community-empowering approach, while ensuring compliance with WVI policies, including Partnership-level policies owned by the Global Accountability team and other key standards. You will build awareness and ensure effective implementation through communications and the development of appropriate guidelines.
You will also provide direction on how World Vision shapes and responds to sector expectations around INGO transparency and accountability. By doing so, you will help build trust and reputation with key partners, while modeling accountability and transparency to governments and other actors who influence the well-being of the most vulnerable children.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, Communications, Social Sciences or other related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience working in the field of accountability and transparency, or related disciplines.
- In depth understanding of emerging accountability and governance issues, trends, and challenges relevant to the International NGO sector.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in a wide range of contexts – from leadership to community – both within and outside the non-profit sector and to manage multiple stakeholders and cross functional project groups or teams.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment for not-for-profit organizations, especially on transparency, anticorruption and PSEA.
- Effective in written and verbal communication in English.
- The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time
