GLOBAL AUDIT AND COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST (M/F)
Number of posts: 01
Place of employment: based in one of the Burkina/Mali/Benin or Senegal country offices;
Nature and duration of contract: twelve (12) month fixed-term contract, including a three-month trial period; with the possibility of renewal to a permanent contract if satisfied;
Reporting line: Head of Audit and Compliance;
Start date: as early as possible in January 2024;
– Working conditions: A gross monthly salary covering accommodation of between 1,500,000 and 1,789,161 FCFA depending on experience;

- Mission. The Global Audit and Compliance Specialist Africa (M/F), is responsible for supporting countries in the region to ensure compliance with procedures and commitments in all aspects of the management and operation of country offices in order to build Educo’s reputation in Africa with a specific donor community through the quality of reporting and audit results in country offices. He/she is also responsible for updating and implementing the regional audit and compliance strategy in Africa, in line with Educo’s global objectives, and for supporting and accompanying the country offices.
- Essential tasks
- To ensure the conformity and quality of processes and compliance with procedures in all areas of the organisation (finance, resource mobilisation, logistics, procurement, human resources management, programmes, MERA, IT, etc);
- Conducting audits and controls on the operation and management of countries in the Africa region
- Guiding and developing the quality of reports and audits, assessing the effectiveness of the countries’ overall management system and making recommendations
- Supporting country management and finance management in external audit processes and making recommendations for improving and aligning internal processes with those of external donors.
- Provide analysis and technical advice on internal audit and control in Africa, identifying opportunities and improvements.
- Identifies inconsistencies and impacts in accounting/administrative/logistics/management controls and recommends appropriate corrective actions to maintain and improve quality.
- Provide substantial audit and internal control expertise/analysis and identify opportunities and areas for improvement for the countries and the region.
- Build Educo’s reputation in Africa with a specific donor community through quality reporting and audit results in country offices.
- Skills and experience
- Essentials
- Have at least a BAC + 5 or Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or any equivalent university diploma in the field of management or financial management;
- At least ten (10) years’ experience in administrative and financial management of projects in an international NGO, including at least three (3) years in management control, audit and compliance;
- Excellent writing skills/Fluency in French and English.
- Sound knowledge of the policies and procedures of institutional donors
- Experience in managing/monitoring large/multi-donor budgets
- Relevant experience of creating and implementing management tools
- Very good knowledge of donor procedures
- Advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of accounting and management control
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and budgeting tools
- Advanced knowledge of the financial structure of an international NGO
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint and Outlook;
- Good command of results-based management;
