What will you be doing as an HSP Programme Manager?

Lead medium-scale emergency responses or manage (normally as an Area Manager) parts of large-scale emergency response programmes. Typically, at field office level, to scale up and manage emergency programmes, and to help Oxfam’s programmes to better prepare and help communities at risk to deal with future shocks and stresses. Post holder will also be expected to cover key vacant posts at humanitarian programme coordinator/manager level.

Be accountable for ensuring community participation shapes programme decisions, promotes safe-programming, actively seeks a partnership approach and follows feminist principles including strong awareness of power dynamics.

What we are looking for

Ability and willingness to work in insecure environments, able to deploy at short notice to areas affected by humanitarian crises, confident representation and coordination skills. Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to Oxfam’s values, mission and work.

Ability to take the initiative and make decisions in fast moving environments, listen to people under stressful circumstances, and to create space for dialogue. Sensitivity to cultural differences, and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts.
