The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Your role

The ICT Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of the organization’s ICT assets, from acquisition and deployment to disposal. This role focuses on managing and optimizing asset utilization, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, and supporting financial and operational objectives.

Additionally, the ICT Asset Manager will assist in the daily and long-term strategic management of ICT hardware, including accurately recording hardware assets using asset management tools to ensure compliance with institutional policies and standards for ICT hardware management.

Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all assets that includes hardware, software, and other critical resources in the asset management system;
    • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of asset inventories;
    • Oversee the entire asset lifecycle, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards;
    • Manage asset forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring effective allocation of resources as per SoP;
    • Review and negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring terms and conditions are aligned with company policies;
    • Lead the deployment of new hardware and software, ensuring that each asset is configured according to organizational standards and properly documented in the asset management system;
    • Ensure adherence to all regulatory, financial, and organizational policies related to asset management;
    • Prepare and deliver regular reports on asset status, including utilization, performance, and financial analysis;
    • Liaise with suppliers and external support companies to request goods or services as directed by ICT management, ensuring all accounting details are accurate before processing payments;
    • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of ICT hardware, ensuring all equipment is functioning optimally and meeting performance standards;
    • Assist with ensuring proper backup protocols are in place for critical hardware assets and their data, in collaboration with IT infrastructure teams;
    • Organize and maintain filing systems for contracts, purchases, confidential documents, and general files related to ICT assets;

What we will look for in your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business IT (BBIT) or related technical field foundation in both business and technology;
  • 3+ years of experience in IT asset management or working in similar logistical and administrative tasks is an asset;
  • ICT services management certifications (ITIL, and Prince) is an asset;
  • Experience with inventory management software and tools;
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting;
  • Experience in an ICT Helpdesk role, with a focus on providing support across the typical ICT service catalogue;
  • Experience in an international organization or NGO;
