Psychosocial Support (PSS) Officer
Location: Gaziantep Türkiye

Position Summary
The Psychosocial Support (PSS) Officer will be responsible for delivering a range of psychosocial interventions to beneficiaries, focusing on promoting mental well-being, resilience, and coping mechanisms. The PSS Worker will conduct individual and group sessions, facilitate workshops, and support peer-on-peer initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individual psychosocial consultations to assess needs and provide tailored support.
- Facilitate group consultations and discussions to foster shared experiences and collective coping.
- Design and lead group workshops on various psychosocial topics, promoting skill-building and empowerment.
- Organize and deliver structured group sessions for beneficiaries.
- Support the development and implementation of peer-on-peer support sessions, training and guiding peer facilitators.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all consultations and activities.
- Prepare and submit timely and high-quality reports on activities, progress, and challenges, adhering to organizational guidelines and donor requirements.
- Contribute to the development of PSS materials and strategies.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure integrated and holistic support for beneficiaries.
- Participate in regular supervision and training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in providing psychosocial support, counseling, or related field.
- Proven experience in facilitating individual and group sessions and workshops.
- Strong understanding of psychosocial principles and best practices, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Ability to work effectively with vulnerable populations with sensitivity and empathy.
- Turkish Nationality required or valid work permit document for Turkey.
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English (spoken and written) is essential.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
