World Education is seeking a highly skilled, qualified and motivated Rehabilitation Training Materials Consultant to support the USAID Okard project (Center for Medical rehabilitation (CMR)) and deliver the following (for one or more topics as qualified):
- Review the curriculum outline(s) on the essential rehabilitation intervention(s).
- Review existing online or printed resources available on the essential rehabilitation interventions
- Conduct a technical kick-off meeting (in person or online) with core trainers and CMR Steering Committee to discuss the development of the training materials
- Draft training materials on the specific training topic including draft agenda, handbook, training materials in regular discussion with the Health Technical Management Committee (TMC).
- Conduct a technical handover meeting (in-person or online) with core trainers and CMR Steering Committee to orientate the core trainers to the training materials so they can edit, contextualize, and finalize themselves.
Qualifications and key competencies:
- Academic background as rehabilitation doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, speech and language therapist, and/or occupational therapist.
- Proven track record of providing rehabilitation interventions in clinical settings required
- Demonstrated experience as a rehabilitation trainer and mentor required
- Good understanding of rehabilitation context in SE Asia, and preferably of Laos
- Experience of training/ coaching health professionals on rehabilitation and AP in Lao PDR or SE Asia country preferred
- Knowledge and experience of using WHO Rehabilitation Competency Framework (RCF) preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and report appropriately
- Good level of English required (literacy/ spoken) and Lao language desirable (but not required)
Reports to: Chief of Party/ Senior Technical Advisor
Location: Remote support (can be located anywhere)
Timeframe: 5-10 days per training topic (negotiable to be discussed) between January 2022-August 2022 (with possibility to extend depending on no-cost extension request)
