Purpose of the position

Dorcas is implementing various projects to provide humanitarian assistance to individuals who are affected by the crisis in Ukraine, in Dnipro, Donetsk, Transcarpathia and Zaporizhzhia. As we work in insecure areas, we aim to keep our and our partners’ staff as safe as possible. The Security Manager is responsible for the daily security management of Dorcas staff in operational areas throughout Ukraine, in accordance with Dorcas defined security and quality standards. He/she will advise the Country Management Team regarding daily security management, and work closely with an external security provider to continuously improve our operating procedures to ensure maximum risk mitigation.

Main responsibilities and tasks will consist of the following:

  • Responsible for the daily security management processes and overwatch of the missions.
  • Preparing and approve Mission Briefs and Plans
  • Preparing together with an external provider Risk Assessments and Analysis
  • Trigger of Security Alerts and working in CMT structure
  • Overwatch together with an external provider the field work in the projects
  • Convoy tracking
  • Review and track compliance with SOPs – Manage SOPs and ensure and train staff in their use.
  • Main POC and interface in the organisation to the external provider.

Profile

  • Background in Security Management / Security Clearances / Security Operations
  • Detailed knowledge of SOPs, Risk Assessment (CMT are a plus but not required)
  • Previous experience working within NGO or government
  • Proven documentation and information of experience in the Security Industry
  • Ability to maintain professional at all times when put in challenging situations
  • Knowledge of the current war and security situation in the east and north Oblasts of Ukraine
  • Fluent in Ukrainian and English
  • The candidate is expected to fully support our vision and mission.

We offer:

  • Type of contract: 6 months with possible extension based on performance
  • Salary/benefits: According to Dorcas salary scale, terms and conditions.
  • Duty station: Kyiv, with regular travels to Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and other locations in Ukraine
