Update as of 21August 1800H UTC+7:
Reports of flooding covers 10 provinces (Phetchabun, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Nan, Phayao, Lampang, Phrae, Udon Thani, Rayong, Phuket) 46 districts, 105 sub-districts, 279 m. 4,021 households were affected, no injuries or deaths.
Currently, there are still situations in 7 provinces (Chiang Rai, Phayao, Lampang, Nan, Phrae, Phetchabun, Udon Thani) 23 districts, 57 sub-districts, 157 villages, 1,277 households are affected as follows:

  1. Chiang Rai – 487
  2. Phayao – 700
  3. Lampang – 2
  4. Nan – 4
  5. Phrae – 23
  6. Phetchabun – 50
  7. Udon Thani – 1

Update as of 21 August:

– Currently, there is still a situation in 2 provinces, 1,074 households are affected as follows:

According to the DDPM, a moderate monsoon trough runs through the upper North and the upper Northeast.
Low-pressure area is monitored in the upper part of Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin, along with the southwest monsoon.
These continues to cover the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand, while the southeasterly winds and the upper southwest winds over the Northeast, causing flash floods and forest runoff.
During August 16-18, 2024, there were situations in 6 provinces (Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Nan, Phayao, Rayong, Phuket) 27 A. 51 T. 162 M. 2,380 households were affected, no injuries or deaths.

Currently, there is still a situation in 4 provinces (Chiang Mai, Nan, Chiang Rai, Phayao) 13 districts, 29 sub-districts, 111 m. Houses People affected 1,166 households as follows:

1) Chiang Mai Province On August 18, 67 at 07.00, heavy rain caused flooding in 1 district, 2 sub-districts, 2 m. including Tambon Wiang, Tambon Ban Pong, Amphoe Phrao. Initially, the damage is being surveyed. There were no injuries and deaths. The Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, Chiang Dao Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, districts, local military units, police officers, local administrative organizations, volunteers VDP, volunteers, foundations, and related agencies surveyed the damage and provided assistance.
Accelerate the drainage of water from the area. The situation has now improved.

2) Phayao Province, August 17, 2024 at 08.30, heavy rain caused flooding in 2 districts, 8 t. 57 m.
namely, Thung Ruang Thong Subdistrict, Jun Subdistrict, Huai Yang Kham Subdistrict, Jun District, Dok Kham Tai Subdistrict, San Khong Subdistrict, Don Si Chum Subdistrict, Boon Koet Subdistrict, Sawang Arom Subdistrict Dok Kham Tai District. Initially, 286 households were affected. No one was injured or died.

The Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the district, the local military unit, the police, the local administrative organization, volunteers, the village defense volunteers, the volunteers, the foundation, and related agencies inspected the damage and provided assistance. The situation has now improved.

Flooding continues in low-lying agricultural areas

3) Nan Province, August 17, 2024, heavy rain caused flash floods in 2 areas, 2 T, 5 M, including:
(M.2,4) Tung Chang Subdistrict, Tung Chang District (M.3,6,10) Pue Subdistrict, Chiang Klang District. Initially, 7 households were affected.
No injuries or deaths were reported. The Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the district, the local military units, the police, local government organizations, volunteers, volunteers, the defense volunteers, the foundation, and relevant agencies surveyed the damage and provided assistance.
The situation has now improved.

4) Chiang Rai Province, August 15-17, 2024, heavy rain caused flooding and overflowing of the riverbanks in the area of 8 A. 17 T. 47 M., including Ban Du Subdistrict, Mueang District, Ngio Subdistrict, Wiang Subdistrict, Si Don Chai Subdistrict, Thoeng District, Pha Ngam Subdistrict, Mueang Chum Subdistrict, Wiang Chai District, Bua Salee Subdistrict Mae Lao District, Pa Sak Subdistrict, Si Don Mon Subdistrict, Chiang Saen District, Pa Ngae Subdistrict, Sanmakha Subdistrict, Si Pho Ngoen Subdistrict, Pa Daet District, Mae Pao Subdistrict, Mengrai Subdistrict
Phaya Mengrai District, Ko Chang Subdistrict, Mae Sai District, Sansalee Subdistrict, Wiang Subdistrict, Wiang Pa Pao District Initially, 873 households were affected.
No injuries or deaths were reported. The Chiang Rai Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, Region 15, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the district, the local military units, the police, local government organizations, volunteers, village defense volunteers, volunteers, foundations, and related agencies surveyed the damage and provided assistance to quickly drain water from the area. 614 relief bags were distributed. The water level has now decreased.
