- On 6-7 August, heavy rain affected northern Vietnam, causing floods and resulting in damage.
- According to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), one person died and 520 people have been affected by floods in Lao Cai Province, northwestern Vietnam. In addition, 104 houses have been damaged in Lao Cai City and Bao Thang District, central Lao Cai Province.
- For the next 24 hours, more rainfall is forecast with very heavy rainfall over the northern part of the country.
