Overview

Position Summary

The Associate Director, Office of Programs & Operations supports the Chief Operating Officer’s management of the Office of Programs and Operations (OPO). In this capacity, s/he develops and monitors – with divisional leaders – OPO’s budgets, contributes to the development of strategic and business plans for programmatic and administrative divisions and departments, and their progress reports, contributes to the needs identification, development and implementation of new policies and procedures across the company, and liaises amongst all offices at Creative to ensure maintenance of all proper communication channels. The position also contributes to the formulation and implementation of planned strategies and initiatives to enhance operations and program quality and sophistication in addition to leading and/or contributing to corporate-wide initiatives outside of OPO.

The successful incumbent will work alongside corporate leadership across the organization, will be a trusted member of and partner to the senior management team. This is a challenging and fast paced role that will leverage your business and operations skills in furtherance of Creative’s mission to help underserved communities world-wide.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position reports to and is supervised by the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The position supervises a Special Project Assistant for the Office of Programs & Operations.

Responsibilities

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, international development or a closely related field;
  • At least 5 years work experience in international development, preferably at a firm of similar characteristics as Creative;
  • At least 5 years of operations management experience;
  • Experience formulating and managing complex budgets;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a service-oriented approach;
  • Ability to work independently and organize time effectively;
  • Ability to work in a team in both a leadership and member capacity;
  • Proven experience generating cross-divisional collaboration to accomplish mutually beneficial initiatives;
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-orientation and flexible work style;
  • Prior experience with or knowledge of USAID and its internal operational structures and processes;
  • Successful experience and willingness to properly handle confidential and/or sensitive information;
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office software;
  • Familiarity or experience with Microsoft Project and SharePoint;
  • Appreciation of, and ability to work effectively in, diverse work environments.**Qualifications**

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, or a closely related field;
  • Experience at Creative highly desirable.
  • Familiarity or experience with Microsoft Project and SharePoint;
  • Work experience abroad, preferably in the international development arena;
  • Knowledge of USG business practices, such as AIDARs, DFARs, etc.;
  • Management consulting experience;
  • USG security clearance;
  • Proficiency in second language.
