Field Operations Manager

Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is an international non-governmental humanitarian organization providing humanitarian and development help worldwide since 1992. So far, the interventions have been carried out in 51 different countries. By possessing long-standing expertise in the implementation of projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Food Security and Livelihoods, as well as Nutrition and Education, PAH concentrates its global activities on ensuring sustainable and stable development of regions suffering from the consequences of armed conflicts, natural disasters, and other humanitarian crises.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and implementing a global strategy on the delivery of development and humanitarian aid. Developing related actions in this area
  • Preparation and recommendation for the implementation of emergency and development aid activities
  • Coordinating relationships between the Foundation’s internal departments
  • Implementing actions to optimize costs within the organization
  • Managing ongoing activities of subordinate division
  • Managing Field Operations Team (Emergency Relief Coordinators and Desk Officers), delegate tasks, performance review, and capacity building. Preparing and conducting internal training for employees and volunteers
  • Cooperation with external entities (incl. auditors and audit institutions)
  • Responsibility for security on foreign missions
  • Preparing financial plans and management of the department’s budget
  • Managing the flow of information
  • Representing the Foundation in external contacts, advocacy

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of professional experience in the humanitarian and development sector
  • Negotiation and project management skills
  • Experience managing at least a team of 6 members
  • Experience managing a project portfolio of at least 1 million USD
  • Master’s degree (international relations / management /or related)
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English and Polish (C1). Knowledge of the Polish language is a prerequisite for this position.
  • Willingness and no health contraindications to travels
  • Driving license
