Planning

  • Read the status report (document of about 120 pages)
  • Coordination meetings with the gender and child participation expert, the communication coordinator and the and the child participation consultant
  • Interviews with the gender and child participation expert in the field and headquarters on the child participation approach participation approach at IBCR

Presentation of the project to the project manager and the gender expert on needs
Attend workshops with children to identify key information from the SOW to be included in the child-friendly

  • Attend consultations
  • Meet with partner associations and conduct interviews to understand which communication tools and communication tools and visuals are most used by associations and children
  • Conduct observation in partnership with partner associations on how children participate in activities to better participation of children in the activities to better understand this concept in Senegal and be inspired in the final graphic design

Compilation and analysis

  • Based on the exchanges with the children and the associations, establish an analysis of the possible formats for the child-friendly version of the LDS and opportunities for leveraging advocacy by children on advisory committees

Development of a child-friendly version

  • Prepare visuals for the child-friendly version of the state of the art report
  • Collaborate with children on design and present them with a draft
  • Incorporate children’s comments on the visual
  • Submit a first draft to IBCR on December 10, 2021

Finalize a child-friendly version

  • Present the worked version to IBCR and its partners
  • Submit this version to the children of the advisory committees for final validation
  • Write recommendations to IBCR and its partners with concrete proposals on how to integrate communication for development into advocacy and child mobilization activities and mobilization of children

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in communications or graphic design
  • Experience working with children and child-friendly visual communication
  • Experience in development communication
  • Proven experience in designing child-friendly materials and supports
  • Interest and strong ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Respect for deadlines
  • Ability to travel to regions within Senegal for the workshop with the children
  • Be bilingual in French and Wolof
  • Dynamic and organized professional
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to escalate needs or unexpected events to the project
    project leader.

ASSETS

  • Demonstrate integrity by upholding values and ethical standards
  • Experience working with an INGO in Senegal
