About the role

We are merging our strategic objective on Resilient Communities and Natural Resources and the objective on Tackling Violence and Building Peace /Humanitarian. The new position would need a highly competent incumbent with the potential to strategize over a longer span of time while being able to help solve the immediate need for the DRC Program to be able to raise funds, ensure high-quality work and being able to respond to the multiple demands on a timely manner. This role will have oversight of the CA DRC Humanitarian Emergency Response and Resilience portfolio, to deliver integrated results on relief, tackling violence and long-term perspectives to build resilient communities through the prevention of violence, Disaster Risk Reduction and Sustainable use and management of natural resources.

About you

You have a higher level of education or equivalent and a degree in humanitarian response, human rights, international development, rural development (or equivalent experience obtained at a higher level). You possess previous experience working in the field of global development, including experience gained abroad, and an excellent understanding of the development sector, its issues and challenges.

You have experience and knowledge of managing data collection operations in developing countries, particularly those where Christian Aid operates. You possess an excellent ability to organize and influence. You can manage complex relationships with stakeholders both external and internal via remote and physical channels.

You have solid knowledge and understanding of current practices and debates on violence, conflict and development, gender-based violence and sexual violence in conflict and the protection of civilian populations. You possess proven experience in the field of resilience and humanitarian response; in particular in the inclusion of resilience in humanitarian interventions and narratable experience in mentoring and strengthening the technical skills of local staff and NGOs.

You have strong communication skills – oral and written, with a good command of English and French
