Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning Advisor (fixed term)

Closing date:

War Child’s vision for Programme Quality emphasise technical expertise, accountability to affected populations, and programme learning. Central to this is the ability to gather and use data for the purposes of evidencing our achievements and driving continual improvement. The MEAL Advisor is technical support for high quality Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning. You will strengthen and consolidate our MEAL systems within our countries of operation particularly on accountability and support uptake of our MIS improvements, data protection and other related policies and focus areas for the MEAL function.

The Advisor is responsible for providing advisory support to the War Child UK programme portfolio across the Africa and Asia/Middle East regions with specific responsibility for supporting a multi-country, multi-affiliate Early Childhood Development project in Iraq (War Child UK) and Jordan (War Child Holland). Your role will support two country teams to deliver this project’s MEAL outputs and bringing together everything at the global, singular programme level. This will include coordination of a global team (internal and external) to ensure coherence between each country’s approach to MEAL. The learning component will see project staff across the two countries co-designing a rigorous monitoring and evaluation process and exchanging experiences with the purpose of producing strong policy briefs and actionable recommendations. These will then be shared with global ECD actors such as the Moving Minds Alliance and Global Education Cluster and will hold various events and roundtables to engage global donors and policy makers.

The Advisor is a core member of the Programme Quality Team, and the wider Programmes Department in London but works closely with Country Teams, specifically MEAL Officers and Programme Managers
