National Consultant on Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Consultant to join our team on a short-term consultancy basis. The consultant will play a pivotal role in enhancing the capacity of our M&E team, guiding them in effective program implementation, activity tracking, reporting, and other M&E-related responsibilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with our M&E team to build their skills, improve processes, and ensure accurate and timely data collection and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to the M&E team in program implementation, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of M&E frameworks, tools, and indicators to monitor and evaluate project progress and impact.
  • Coach the M&E team in effectively tracking project activities, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
  • Support the team in conducting regular field visits to validate data, assess program quality, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement surveys, assessments, and evaluations, and guide the team in analyzing the results.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to enhance the M&E team’s capacity in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Review and refine M&E reports, ensuring they provide clear insights into project performance and impact.
  • Advise on strategies to enhance data utilization for informed decision-making and learning within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., development studies, social sciences, statistics, etc.).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing M&E systems for development projects or humanitarian initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills, capable of effectively conveying technical concepts to team members with varying levels of expertise.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Stata) and data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Prior experience in conducting M&E training and capacity-building activities is a plus.
  • Understanding of the social and humanitarian context in which Nkafamiya Rescue Mission operates.
