Salary: Php 1,384,818.00 per annum net of taxes
Context
The Online Communications Unit (OCU), the Manila-based branch of the IOM Department of Media and Communications, focuses on several key areas of work. These include bringing expertise and agility to manage the digital environment effectively, ensuring IOM’s online presence is a strategic priority, maintaining consistency in online brand representation, guiding and empowering colleagues through web management training, and being dedicated to swift and effective responses to web-based demands, efficiently meeting various web-related needs.
Under the direct supervision and the overall guidance of the Head of the Online Communications Unit (OCU), the successful candidate will support the design and user experience for websites managed by the OCU.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Graphical/Digital Design or other related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant work experience; or,
- Master’s degree in above fields.
- Certification as User Interface Designer is desirable.
- Industry certifications will be considered an advantage
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience:
- Relevant experience in UI/UX design in software development.
- Ability to provide or submit UX/UI design portfolio samples is required.
- Practical experience applying UX/UI best practices to design accesible web and mobile interfaces.
- Expertise in UX/UI software design tools such as Figma, InVision, Adobe Creative Suites (Illustrator) and the like is a must.
- Experience with design documentation, creation of mock-ups, requirements gathering and client interaction.
- Understanding of user cantered design and testing methodologies, subsystems and usability and accessibility concerns.
- Experience supervising junior designers.
- Ability to work independently without minimum supervision.
- Excellent problem solving, and design skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with business users and IT developers and ability to effectively communicate ideas.
Skills:
- Proficient in using UX/UI software design tools such as Figma, InVision, Adobe Creative Suites (Illustrator).
- Able to translate business requirements into prototypes, workflows, mockups and wireframes.
- Familiar with conducting or supporting research and usability testing to solve user experience issues.
