Position Title: Project Assistant (8 Vacancies)

Classification: General Service Staff, Ungraded (G-5 Equivalent)
Type of Appointment: Special Short-Term, three (3) months with possibility of extension

Context:
Under the over-all supervision of the Head of Sub-Office and with direct supervision of the National Project Officer, the Project Assistant will be accountable and responsible in providing technical and administrative support for the implementation of Strengthening Resiliency Against Climate Related Security Risks in Conflict Prone Communities in Mindanao and other related programming on migration management.
Under the overall supervision of Senior Operation Coordinator CCCM, and direct supervision of MEAL Officer, the Senior IM Assistant [KJ1] will support the information management activities required to implement the project.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Support the rolling out a community-based complaint and feedback mechanism at the site level.
- Assist in the organization of community meetings and other form of participatory approaches such as care and maintenance activities, focus group discussions, key informant interviews and safety audit/mapping.
- Collect accurate and updated data on the progress of the programmes and produce reports and other ad-hoc updates as required.
- Assist in the registration and distribution of NFI kits in line with the standard operating procedure.
- Carry out regular needs and service monitoring in the site to ensure timely and appropriate provision of assistance including repair of shelter and WASH facilities, installation of privacy partitions, generators, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Carry out a weekly communications and community engagement plan, monitor outreach activities especially for the most vulnerable persons, ensuring that they are prioritized and informed of the assistance and services available in the site and how to access them.
- Ensure that noticeboards and other communication materials used at site level contain up-to-date information on services available and how to access them.
- Draft and prepare updates, activity reports, minutes of the meetings, and other documentary requirements for the project’s needs.
- Perform other duties as required by the direct supervisor.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- University Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or any related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or,
- Completed high school degree from an accredited academic institution, with four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
- Professional relevant experience in Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), is an advantage.
Experience
- Good interpersonal skills (in dealing with colleagues and the community) is a must.
- Knowledge of camp management-related technical guidelines, standards, and indicators.
- Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is an advantage.
- Good understanding of the cultural and socio-political context of the Philippines.
Skills
- Strong field operational skills and community engagement
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Filipino
- Good computer literacy.
Languages
- For all applicants, fluency in English and Filipino, is required (oral and written).
- Working knowledge of Dari and/or Pashto is an advantage.
