Senior Procurement and Logistics Managers (Multiple Roles in Global Logistics Team)

Location: These are ‘roving’ roles with significant global travel. When not travelling, the post holder may be able work from home (the approval of this will be dependent on financial and legal implications). MAG will consider applications from any global location. Starting salary: £40,332 per annum, plus £5,000 annual travel allowance

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.

MAG is moving to a new phase of its Procurement and Logistics transformation journey, engaging on new areas and focusing on stabilising all the changes that have been promoted during the past few years. In order to get ready to support the implementation of the projects in pipeline, MAG***’s*** Logistics team is going through a process of right-sizing, and is recruiting to some critical roles as the incumbent post-holders are moving to new roles both internally and outside MAG.

We are recruiting for two types of Senior Procurement and Logistics Manager roles as listed below. There are three vacancies in total. Regional Procurement and Logistics Manager (2 Roles): Focusing on Middle East or Asia Pacific Regionsrespectively, you will support country programmes within thoseregions on an operational day-to-day basis, and ata strategic level. You will be an enabler, linking MAG’s Manchester office and country Programmes, facilitating the adoption of new SOPs, processes, tools and ways of working at country level, building synergies and capacities across a portfolio of Programmes, and ensuring field-requirements are embedded in the design of any logistics management framework and approach.

Roving Logistics Manager (1 Role): This key position provides contingency support to Programmes at a global scale, being deployed as well to facilitate scaling up and deployment of MAG operations in new Programmes, and works as an enabler with the rest of the team members, supporting the coordination and implementation of teams’ projects within the logistics transformation framework.

All three roles involve significant travel to MAG country programmes, mostly over a rolling deployment calendar but at times with short notice; the total amount of travel is estimated above 60%.

About you:

We are looking for dynamic and motivated individuals, with strong humanitarian commitment, experienced in running complex logistics operations in volatile operating contexts. The ideal candidates have experience across multiple humanitarian contexts, possess a strong sensitivity in working across cultures, demonstrates a focus in building capacities, and brings previous experience in supporting complex organizational changes within logistics management area.
