JOB SUMMARY

JOB PURPOSE:

Respond to survivors of GBV based on a survivor-centered approach, including ensuring victims’ confidentiality and respecting their wishes and decisions It ensures the safety of survivors and reduces the risk of violence to them

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:

  • Ensure, at all times, to follow an approach that focuses on women, girls and survivors in all activities and services provided by you and the team in women’s and girls’ centers and safe places; this includes ensuring the confidentiality of victims, respecting their wishes and decisions;
  • Provide appropriate case management for age, including: assessing the needs of women and adolescent girls; providing emotional support, basic counseling, and crisis (and in some contexts, more individual counseling); safety strategies and risk assessment; developing action plans; support in following up on services and support; safe, confidential and appropriate referrals that align with official referral pathways for gender-based violence; providing appreciative assistance (such as transportation, dignity kits, urgent medical costs) if it aligns with internal protocols and eligibility criteria to meet the most urgent needs.
  • Provide services to adolescent girls who are survivors of gender-based violence, including case management
  • Conduct assessments with adolescent girls, caregivers, and other stakeholders to identify concerns, needs, and key opportunities.
  • Conduct ongoing focused group discussions with women and adolescent girls
  • Participate and support in identifying individuals at risk of gender-based violence.
  • Conduct individual sessions for beneficiaries according to the specified methodology for survivors and for each step of case management processes and related tools with risk assessment, needs assessment, care plans, safety plans, referrals and providing emotional support for survivors as required.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compilation of case files in compliance with the Information Management system for gender-based violence programs.
  • Emphasize direct handling of all cases described as high risk in coordination with the direct manager.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other organizations and service providers to ensure smooth and effective referrals in collaboration with the direct supervisor.
  • Actively participate in weekly meetings with the case management team.
  • Regularly communicate with the program manager for updates on challenges and achievements.
  • Perform all other activities related to gender-based violence as requested by the direct manager.
  • Provide information and data as required to update activity reports and weekly reports.
  • Coordination and representation:
  • Cooperate and coordinate effectively and continuously with other protection teams and other sectors as needed.
  • Direct communication and coordination with case managers and service providers as part of individual case management.
  • Regular attendance of case management meetings.
  • Program development:
  • Contributing to the development and updating of activities based on the target in case management field and provide suggestions and comments that contribute to supporting and developing program plans.
  • Perform any other duties required by supervisors.

Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications

  • University degree or institute in social sciences or psychological counseling or related to this subject.
  • Experience in the field of violence and case management for at least two years in the humanitarian work, especially in the field of psychological support and protection with other humanitarian organizations
  • Self-motivated and initiative with a high level of energy.
  • Strong knowledge and commitment to humanitarian work standards.
  • Commitment to human rights and community approach
  • Ability to work within a team under pressure and respond to changing needs.
  • Priority for applicants within the work areas.
  • Female is required for this position

Language

  • Excellent level in English
  • fluent in Arabic (written and spoken).

IT skills

  • Excellent computer skills .
  • Proficiency in the internet and search tools.
  • Proficiency in MS office (Excel, power point and word)
