General Description of the Organization:

Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of the conflict-affected population. Since its establishment, Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations, delivering programs spanning sectors, including humanitarian and development programs, in the Early Recovery, Food Security, Agriculture, Livelihoods, Education, and Protection, in addition to long-term impact interventions focusing on the economic empowerment and the local value chains improvements to enable targeted communities to improve their living practices and their sustainable mechanisms. Orange collaborates with a variety of national and international non-governmental organizations, as well as local initiatives, to adopt a community-based approach that leads to improving the response’s impact on the humanitarian crisis and provides sustainable and alternative solutions.

Job Purpose:

The Field Media Officer will be responsible for video editing, photography, design, and montage and has strong media network management skills. You will be responsible for producing and editing visual and written content for our media projects.

Duties, objectives, and competencies:

  • Work with the Senior Advocacy and Media Officer, Training Teams, and the IT Team to collect high-quality blogs/vlogs, success stories, photographs, and video footage for communications and advocacy purposes, as outlined in Orange Media Guidelines.
  • Proactively identify new content for stories, blogs, and vlogs, sharing ideas for new content with the Advocacy and Communications Manager.
  • Assist in maintaining an effective filing system of communication materials.
  • Supporting the project team in taking videos and photos and producing high-quality materials.
  • Supporting in Orange’s advertisements.
  • Complete weekly reports for the line manager to report the work carried out in the previous week.
  • Any other duties as outlined by the line manager within the field.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience in media/communications.
  • Excellent photography, filming, and video editing skills and experience in Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Excellent skills in program editing “Adobe Premiere” videos and creating promo.
  • Excellent skills in writing content and creating video stories.
  • Flexible about working long hours.
  • Good communication skills (written and spoken), demonstrable writing skills in English, and fluency in Arabic.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft packages, including Excel, Word, and Outlook (particular emphasis on Excel)
  • A flexible approach to work and willingness to take on extra duties, work additional hours, or work on weekends if required.
  • Willingness to learn and to take on extra duties if required.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Trustworthy and honest.
  • Diplomacy and negotiation skills, good communication skills, and deep knowledge of the Syrian context.
