Head of Global Partnerships

Danish Red Cross (DRC) is hiring for a management position in the International Department at HQ in Denmark. The position is to support the recently launched and ambitious new international strategy for Danish Red Cross focusing on the necessary funding and partnerships for making a difference for people living in complex and protracted crisis contexts with a focus on health, disaster management and inclusion of marginalized groups. Click here to read the full strategy.

Global Partnerships

You will lead a unit of 15 colleagues including two in Belgium who are dedicated to create and strengthening strategic partnerships with organisations and donors in collaboration with the relevant parts of DRC. If your passion and expertise is understanding the known – and open to the unknown – players in humanitarian field then this is for you.

Partnerships are crucial for DRC’s ambition in the future to do more for those in need and the Global Partnerships Unit has the primary dialogue with large global partners and an important responsibility of developing new partnerships and opportunities.

The unit is part of a bigger eco systems of colleagues in HQ, regions and countries, other Red Cross movement partners and colleagues outside the movement, both global and local. The position is part of the management group of the International Department and reports to the International Director.

You will be responsible for an Alternative Financing Hub in Copenhagen aimed to develop and attract new partnerships and solution to the humanitarian sector.

Your profile

We expect relevant backgrounds in terms managerial experience and knowledge of the international humanitarian context. Ability to work independently, structured as well as solid planning and organisational skills. As leader you must be able to cooperate with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation and beyond. We are busy and ability to prioritise and ensure progress is a much-needed skill to succeed in the position on a long-term basis. Finally, it is important that both are strong communicators verbally as well as in writing.​ Future work place

The position is a full-time position – 37 working hours per week. The position require flexibility as up to 2-3 months of travel a year is expected primarily shorter travels. You will refer to the International Director in Copenhagen. Salary and employment conditions will comply with Danish Red Cross’s collective bargain agreement with HK and AC.
