PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The MEAL Assistant will contribute to quality improvement through the provision of support on MEAL activities, namely the collection of data on project indicators, the evaluation of quality standards of activities, setting up accountability mechanisms, coordinating assessments and research, facilitating all planned MEAL activities, etc. He/She will be under the responsibility of the MEAL Manager of the office and will support the project coordinators.

Key responsibilities and main tasks:

Strategy, planning and project management

As MEAL staff, the expected roles of this position are:

  • – Collect information on the progress of project indicators and enter this information into the project management database platform set up by the country office;
    • Provide support in establishing and updating a database for monitoring activity quality standards;
    • Provide assistance in the collection of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning data, as well as in the transmission of data to the project manager;
    • Assist in the analysis and compilation of data to measure the progress and impact of project activities;
    • Participate and coordinate the timely collection and analysis of all data on project performance and successes;
    • Check the quality of data on a daily basis and ensure that all data is entered into the database platform and analyzed with integrity;
    • Develop and maintain accountability mechanisms including child safeguarding, helpline and systematically update project accountability database;
    • Conduct field visits throughout the project as needed to support data collection, quality check; consult the children.
    • Prepare reports on project data, as required for reporting;
    • Contribute to project evaluations (baseline and final evaluation)
    • Contribute to the documentation of program events such as meetings, events and workshops;

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably on science subjects.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in MEAL-related work.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Prior experience in data planning, collection, entry, analysis and management.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and commitment to its goals and values.
  • Perfect command of written and oral French, English level acceptable
